Thanksgiving Fall Mantle

Now that this Christmas is coming and everyone is posting pictures of the new decor they’ve put up for the holidays, I thought that now would be a great time to post pics of my FALL fireplace mantle!

I was trying to think of a way to explain why I am so behind in posting this, and that’s when my one year old son came crawling over and started trying to climb up my body just as I was beginning to type. Now he is half sitting on my laptop while happily reaching to push all the buttons. I mean, look at this face. How do you get anything done when this face is looking at you?

So… with (and without) delay, here are some pics of this past season’s home decor…

As I’ve mentioned before in my Spring/Easter Mantle post, I try and keep the main pieces of my mantle and add just change up the accent pieces. This not only saves money, but makes it much less time consuming, especially when you’re a busy mom! Michael’s always has great sales near the end of the season on their faux flowers so I usually wait a bit until I see that 50% off sale. This year I decided to go with some light and soft fall colors.

It wouldn’t feel like fall without pumpkins, so I bought a small white pumpkin at the grocery store for a couple dollars. I also happened to find these shimmery copper looking pumpkins at the Dollar store one day while I was roaming around.. so much savings!!

I also found this adorable pumpkin garland made out of yarn last season at Michael’s and it was just too cute to resist.

I used my Cricut Explore Air to design a “Hello Fall” sign, printed it on some patterned cardstock and put it on a burlap background. I also did a smaller framed piece of cardstock and cut out a sparkly pumpkin for that. I was able to do this for the cost of three pieces of paper!

I placed a few things around the house as well to get that fall feel. Here are a couple of quick pics!

In the spirit of thanksgiving, I just want to say how thankful I am for the home God has given me and for my sweet family! I am thankful for the creativity we see in nature during the fall season and am happy that we can use the creativity we have been given  to make our home a cozy space where we can enjoy all we have been blessed with.
