So, we were out tonight at Walmart with our crazy crew and inevitably we get stopped by at least one or two people.. ‘cuz well, we look insane. Most of the time we get something like “Well you’ve got your hands full”, or “The older ones aren’t twins too are they?” Anyways, needless to say, I’ve had a lot of conversations with strangers over the last few months.
Tonight’s stranger convo was with an elderly German lady who told me all about her experiences as a nanny in Germany and how she took care of four kid under four years old. She also had her own kids and now grandkids and even great grandkids. It was a nice chat and then we parted ways. We continued shopping for probably a good 15 minutes more and were in a totally different part in the store when we heard a little German voice say, “Hi again, I just got a little something for you guys. The receipt is in the bag so you don’t get stopped leaving the store. It’s just some nectarines and a quart of strawberries, but I thought you could enjoy them.”
Needless to say we were very touched. It was a great reminder to always be on the look out for people you can bless. You never know when a quart of strawberries can make someone’s day. 🍓
